Mindfulness Practice and Beingness

## Details

Mindfulness is one of the important practices across traditions. Being present in the moment is often emphasized in many spiritual teachings as crucial for understanding one's true nature.

Is it possible to practise presence if presence is all there is ? Is it just a case of not getting lost in thoughts and fantasies?

Here is a Zen Koan for contemplation

When asked why he practised zen, the student said, “Because I intend to become a Buddha.”
His teacher picked up a brick and started polishing it. The student asked “What are you doing?” The teacher replied, “I am trying to make a mirror.”
“How can you make a mirror by polishing a brick?
“How can you become Buddha by doing zazen?”

What does it really mean to practise presence ? Join us to explore the 'Present Moment'. We will have time to meditate and discuss. I will bring some readings with me.
