The future of wearables in health

Details
Wearables and sensing technologies have great potential in a broad array of applications. They open up a universe of possibilities to find new meanings, solve new problems.
Join us to discuss two of these applications and imagine new ones.
Wenyue Zou will talk about low-cost personalised wearable UV sensor offering real-time sun exposure monitoring. Wenyue developed photo-active ink that can generate a unique colour response to specific UV wavelengths. Wenyue is featured as Innovators under 35 by MIT Technology Review and she is a researcher at RMIT University.
Kristof De Mey will talk about a running (wearable) technology application called Lower Impact Runner, which combines sensor and music based sonifications to improve running styles, prevent injury and/or help in return to sport and physical activity.
Kristof is a business developer at Ghent University and its sports innovation consortium Victoris, where he is involved in various multi-disciplinary and university-industry collaborations.
And what about you? Which wearables you would like to see in the healthcare space? Let's explore them together during the session.
