Happy New Year to all, hope you all have a great Christmas and new year. Have a very busy last year and was unable to schedule some times for the walks. We sincerely do apology. Please join us for our 2nd 2015 walk, a relaxed photo walk and DSLR basics session.

-----------------------------------------------------------

These photo walks are aimed at the enthusiast or beginner photographer who's got their hands on a digital camera and is wanting to get the skills and confidence to move out of automatic mode and take their images to the next level.

(Having said that, experienced photographers and very much welcome! Come out and enjoy a nice evening photo walk in Melbourne with other keen photogs!)

It's a casual, relaxed environment, we'll be stopping at between 4 or 5 locations along the way and spending 15-20 minutes at each spot.

The best thing ..... SMALL GROUP. 7 PEOPLE MAXIMUM*.
The next best thing ..... VERY COMPETITIVE PRICING. ONLY $20.00 each

You won't get lost in the crowd and there's plenty of time to ask questions at each location, and on the walk between locations.

What we'll go through:

• Aperture (A). What is the aperture of your lens and why is it important

• Shutter Speed (S/Tv). Understand shutter speed and say goodbye to blurry images.

• ISO (film speed from analogue days). Working in different lighting conditions requires a basic understanding of ISO. You'll have that knowledge by the time we're finished.

• Bringing it all together for the perfect exposure

• Composition. Understand a few rules for nicely composed, balanced images .... then break them!

What you should bring:

• Your DSLR, mirrorless camera, or similar digital camera with manual functions.

• A fully charged battery (you'd be surprised how many people forget to charge their battery!)

• A memory card with plenty of space.

• Whatever lenses you'd like to experiment with and learn something new about. Most people will get a "kit lens" with a new DSLR. That will be perfect to start with.

• A sturdy tripod. (Definitely recommend! Though it's not the end of the world if you don't have one)

• Comfortable/appropriate shoes and clothing for our walk.

• Wet weather gear and/or umbrella if the weather looks dicey. Suncream, hat and sunglasses if it's a hot one. We still head out unless there is an absolutely extreme weather event.

• An open mind and a good attitude. If a photo walk isn't enjoyable and relaxing for all involved, then something has gone horribly wrong.

About me:

• I'm a freelance photographer specialising in street photography, events, fashion, portraits and urban imagery

• I've got extensive experience running professional photo walks in Melbourne.

• I'm an open book on a photo walk and happy to chat about anything photography related.

• My contact number will be made available to everyone who is confirmed for the walk. Get in touch if you're running late, or similar and we'll make arrangements to catch up back up with the group

The Fine Print (I hate this, but I have to say it):

• Payment is required when you RSVP for this event

• 48 hour cancellation policy applies. If you need to cancel less than 48 hours before the event, you'll be entitled to a replacement walk - not a refund. This is important. Please understand this. Replacement walk to be redeemed within 6 months or payment will be forfeited (not showing up is not a cancellation - you will not be refunded or offered a replacement walk).

• For any cancellations outside of the 48 hour window, you'll get a full refund (minus any automatic paypal fees)

• You are 100% responsible for your own health and safety on my photo walks. We are walking through urban areas of Melbourne with varying gradients and varying surfaces. You need to ensure you are physically capable of taking part.

• You are 100% responsible for your own actions on my photo walks including any trips, tumbles, falls, camera droppages, damage to third parties or property, or similar. It's common sense, but it has to be said.

• I need 4 people minimum to run a photo walk. If I don't get these numbers then I reserve the right to cancel the walk and everyone will be refunded (minus any automatic paypal fees)

• Whilst I try to keep numbers to 7. I do reserve the right to have up to 2 additional people attend who are making up for a previous walk that they had cancelled on.

• I reserve the right to remove anyone from a photo walk at any time should their behaviour or actions in any way be unsafe, offensive or generally not appropriate.

• If for any reason I am ill or otherwise unable to attend and lead the walk, I reserve the right to send a suitably qualified replacement photographer in my place. If I can not get anyone to replace me, the walk will be cancelled and everyone will get a refund (minus any automatic paypal fees).

--------------

I think this covers everything, but fire away any questions you might have and I'll do my best to get you answers as quickly as I can.

These walks are definitely starting to gain a lot of traction and I can't thank you all enough for your support! I love photography and getting out in our great town and teaching people how to get the most out of their gear and improve their images.

I'm looking forward to meeting you guys and I look forward to re-connecting with those of you who I already know!

Cheers,

Sunny
