About us
Melbourne Social is a relaxed, easygoing group for people who want to get out, explore the city, and connect, without pressure, awkward vibes, or needing to already know someone.
-----------------------------------------
This group is about simple, natural social experiences:
- Sunset walks and relaxed strolls
- Concerts, outdoor cinema, and live events
- Museums, planetarium nights, and cultural experiences
- Cafés, dining, and low key hangouts
- Social bike rides
- Casual bouldering and beginner friendly activities
-----------------------------------------
No forced networking. No icebreakers that feel like interviews. Just people showing up and letting things unfold naturally.
Some events include light activities like cycling or bouldering, but always at a social, beginner friendly pace, focused on enjoying the moment rather than performance.
Some people come alone, some bring a friend, both are completely normal here.
-----------------------------------------
18+ only group
This group is for adults aged 18 and over only.
-----------------------------------------
No-show policy
Please only RSVP Yes if you genuinely plan to attend.
I understand that plans can change. If you can’t make it, please update your RSVP or send me a quick message before the meetup time.
No-shows can create issues for the host and other attendees, especially when people are waiting, travelling together, managing limited spaces, or expecting a certain group size.
If someone RSVPs Yes, does not attend, does not message before the event, and does not follow up within 7 days after the event, they may be removed from the group.
This is not about punishing people for missing an event. It is about keeping the group fair, reliable, and respectful for the people who do show up.
Plans can change, and that’s okay — please just communicate so the group can plan properly.
-----------------------------------------
About the Host
Hi, I’m Sudal 🙏
I enjoy a mix of outdoor adventures and simple social moments, like a walk, a concert, or trying something new around the city.
I created this group to offer easy, low pressure ways to meet people and experience Melbourne, without overplanning or expectations.
Most events here are things I’d happily do on my own, go for a walk, check out an event, or just unwind somewhere nice.
My role is simple, set the scene with clear plans and welcoming energy, so showing up alone feels natural.
If you’re looking for connection that feels easy and unforced, you’ll fit right in.

Social Bouldering Night at BlocHaus Port Melbourne
Blochaus Port Melbourne, 2/359 Plummer Street, Port Melbourne, AULet’s meet for a casual evening of indoor bouldering at BlocHaus Port Melbourne.
Bouldering is climbing on shorter walls with padded mats, without ropes or harnesses. BlocHaus describes it as a social activity that can be done with or without a partner, and their first-time page says beginners can come along and hire what they need in-house.
We’ll meet near reception at 6:30pm, do a short warm-up/pre-workout, then start climbing around 7:00pm. You can climb as much or as little as you like, take breaks, watch others climb, or work on problems together.
This is not a competition or a formal coaching session. Everyone is responsible for climbing within their own ability and following BlocHaus rules/staff instructions.
Who this is for
- Beginner-friendly and suitable for people who want a relaxed social climb.
- Experienced climbers are also welcome, especially if you are happy to climb casually and help keep the vibe friendly.
- Solo attendees are very welcome. You do not need to come with a climbing partner.

Black Holes with Matt O'Dowd – Free Public Lecture
Carrillo Gantner Theatre, Sidney Myer Asia Building, University of Melbourne Parkville, VIC 3010, Melbourne, AULet's spend a Friday evening exploring one of the universe's greatest mysteries — black holes — with astrophysicist Matt O'Dowd.
Matt is the host of PBS Space Time, and he'll unpack the science behind these extraordinary cosmic objects: how they form, how they warp space and time, and what they can reveal about the origins and future of our universe. Expect cutting-edge research told through engaging storytelling.
This talk is part of the University of Melbourne's 2026 July Lectures in Physics — a free public lecture series that has brought world-leading physicists to Melbourne every Friday in July since 1968.
This will be a relaxed, low-pressure meetup for anyone curious about space, physics, or just a fascinating night out. You're very welcome to come solo. We'll meet outside first, say hello, then head in together.
After the lecture there's a reception in the foyer of the Sidney Myer Asia Centre — free refreshments and a chance to chat about what we just heard. It's in the same building as the theatre, so we'll just step out into the foyer and hang out as a group before wrapping up around 8:00pm.
