Flying Foxes & Boathouses Hike in Yarra Bend Park (10 km)

Join us for a relaxed Saturday morning hike through Yarra Bend Park, following the Flying Foxes and Boathouses loop.

We’ll meet outside Studley Park Boathouse, start the hike from there, and finish back at the same location. After the hike, anyone who wants to can stay for an optional lunch at or near Studley Park Boathouse.

This is a scenic urban nature walk with riverside sections, greenery, city views, and a chance to pass near the flying fox colony. The route is around 10 km and is listed as moderate, so it should suit people who are comfortable walking at a relaxed but steady pace for a few hours.

This is a casual, low-pressure meetup. You’re welcome to come solo, walk with the group, and head off after the hike if you do not want to stay for lunch.

This event is weather dependent and will be cancelled if rain is forecast.

Please arrive on time, as we’ll start the walk shortly after 9:00 am.

The trail is an urban nature hike, but please expect some uneven surfaces, small climbs, rocky sections, and natural trail sections. Wear shoes with decent grip and watch your footing near river or uneven areas.

Lunch afterwards is optional. You’re welcome to join just for the hike, or stay for lunch if you feel like it.
