Sorrento Solstice Festival: Lantern Walk, Fire Dance & The Burn

Join me for an afternoon and evening at the Sorrento Solstice Festival, a free winter festival by the foreshore with market stalls, roving performers, lanterns, ceremony, fire performance, music, and the main event of the evening: The Burn.

We’ll meet outside The Baths Sorrento at 3:45pm, say hello, then wander through the festival area together at a relaxed pace. The first part of the meetup will be about exploring the market stalls and performers before joining the Lantern Walk.

From there, the evening builds toward the main festival moment: the Smoking Ceremony and Welcome Ceremony, followed by The Fire Dance and then The Burn at 6:30pm.

This will be a relaxed, low-pressure meetup. You’re very welcome to come solo. We’ll aim to stay together for the key scheduled moments, especially the Lantern Walk, Fire Dance, and The Burn, but there will also be room to explore nearby stalls, food, and performances at your own pace.

The Meetup will officially finish around 8:00pm. The festival continues until later, so people can stay on afterwards if they want.

This is an outdoor winter festival by the foreshore, so please dress warmly.

Please organise your own transport to and from Sorrento. The Meetup starts in Sorrento, not in Melbourne.

The festival may be busy, especially around The Burn, so please arrive on time and message the group if you are running late.

You are welcome to leave early if needed. Just let me know on the day so we do not wait or look for you.
