Sri Lankan Day Festival at Preston Market

Join me for a relaxed morning and early afternoon at the Sri Lankan Day Festival, a free cultural day happening at Preston Market on Sunday 28 June. Expect hoppers and Sri Lankan street food, curries, roti and sweets, plus matcha, fairy floss and a few quirky stalls to browse, all wrapped up with live music and dance throughout the day.

We'll meet outside Tammy's Borek at 10:30am to say hello, then head into the festival area together around 10:45am. From there it's a wander-at-your-own-pace kind of day: grab some food, catch the entertainment, and enjoy the atmosphere. The festival runs until 3pm, which is when our meetup wraps up too.

Just so it's clear: this is a casual social meetup so we can go along together. It isn't run by or affiliated with Preston Market, and entry to the festival is free, so your RSVP here simply helps me know who's coming.

Timeline
10:30am: Meet outside Tammy's Borek and say hi
10:45am: Head into the festival area together
3pm: Festival ends and our meetup finishes (you're welcome to leave earlier, just let me know so I'm not waiting around for you)

Tickets / cost
Entry to the festival is free. Any food, drinks or stall purchases are paid directly with the traders, so bring a bit of cash and a card to be safe.

Other info
The festival program lists a full lineup across the day, including DJ sets, classical Kandyan and Lowland dance, live Sri Lankan drums, and a band (Dynamics) closing things out in the afternoon. There's also free face painting and a henna artist on the day.
