Free Australian Garden Walk at Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne

Join me for a relaxed morning wandering the award-winning Australian Garden at Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne, on a free guided walk led by one of the gardens' experienced volunteer guides.

We'll follow the highlights of the Australian Garden together — discovering what's in bloom, learning about the incredible diversity of Australian plants, and hearing stories about the garden's celebrated design and the landscapes it brings to life. It's an easy, sociable way to spend a Saturday morning and meet a few new people along the way.

We'll meet outside the Visitor Centre at 10:45am for a quick hello, then join the walk when it starts at 11am. It runs for about an hour and a half, finishing around 12:30pm. For anyone keen, there's an optional lunch at the Boon Wurrung Café afterwards.

One important thing: RBG lists this walk as free but bookings essential, so a Meetup RSVP here does not include a spot. Please book your own free ticket directly with RBG (link below) as well as RSVPing here, so you're guaranteed a place on the day.

Who this is for

• Anyone who enjoys nature, gardens, plants, or just a gentle stroll and good company.
• Beginners and first-timers very welcome — no knowledge needed, just curiosity.
• It's a fairly easy, flat walk at a leisurely pace over about 1.5 hours.
• Coming solo? You're very welcome — plenty of people come on their own.

Timeline

Tickets / cost
The walk is free, but RBG says bookings are essential. Please book your own free ticket directly through the RBG website (link above). Any food or drinks at the café afterwards are at your own cost.

Transport
Cranbourne Gardens is around a 50-minute drive from the CBD, with a carpark at the entrance. If you're coming by public transport, Cranbourne Station is the closest station (about 6km away). See the "Getting here" link for full details.
