Italian Dinner at Universal Restaurant, Lygon Street

Join me for a relaxed Friday night dinner at Universal Restaurant on Lygon Street in Carlton — one of the old-school Italian spots that's been feeding Melbourne since 1969. Think pizza, pasta, parma, and a room full of noise and garlic.

We'll meet outside the restaurant doors at 6:00pm, say hello, then join the queue together from about 6:10pm and get seated as a group. There's no booking, so seating depends on how busy they are on the night — please be on time, as it's much easier to seat us together if we're all there when a table comes up.

Everyone orders and pays for their own meal, so come with whatever appetite and budget suits you. No pressure to order big.
