Join me for a relaxed Friday evening at the driving range at Melbourne Golf Park in Albert Park. We'll grab some bays, hit a bucket of balls under the lights, and enjoy a bit of easy company to round off the week.

This is a social hit, not a lesson and definitely not a competition. If you've never picked up a club before, you're very welcome — the range has over 60 bays across two levels with Trackman screens, clubs are available to hire at reception, and the venue says there's no dress code. Come as you are.

We'll meet at the reception of Melbourne Golf Park at 6:30pm, sort out bays and balls together, then head in and start hitting from about 6:45pm. We'll share the cost of the bays and balls between whoever comes along, paid at reception on the night.

Who this is for

  • Complete beginners who've always been a bit curious about golf
  • Anyone who plays occasionally and wants a casual hit with company
  • Experienced golfers happy to hit a few and chat rather than work on their handicap
  • Coming solo? Perfect — most people do, and you'll have plenty of people to talk to

  • Melbourne Golf Park currently lists evening buckets from around $23.50 for 50 balls and $31 for 100, with club hire at $10 for a driver and $5 for an iron. Prices are theirs and can change, so check the pricing link above for the latest.

  • A jacket, it can get cool once the sun goes down
  • Water, and a card for paying your share

  • Vibe: Friendly and low-pressure, nobody is judging your swing
  • Group style: Sharing bays, mixing, and having a laugh

Important notes

  • This is a casual social meetup arranged so we can head along together — it isn't run by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Melbourne Golf Park. An RSVP here isn't a ticket and doesn't include entry or balls.
  • Please arrive by 6:30pm so we can sort bays together. If you're running late, come find us at the bays.
  • Golf clubs move fast — please stay behind the bay line, keep clear of others swinging, and follow all venue rules and staff instructions.
  • Take part within your own ability. You're joining at your own risk and you're responsible for your own safety and wellbeing on the day.
  • If your plans change, please update your RSVP so numbers stay clear.
