Croydon - Lilydale Lake via Montrose cycle (26km 290m elev, Beginner +)
Details
Croydon - Lilydale Lake via Montrose (stop @ 15km at The Iced Bakery) 26km ride 290m elevation.
Hi,
Late roll call for anyone who want's a morning cycle on the public holiday!
We will start in Croydon, behind the Library/Aqua hub where the carpark meets the Tarralla Creek trail near Fred Geale Oval.
We will head out East on the Carrum-Warby trail before swinging a right onto the Cambridge Road trail around the outskirts of Montrose. Here we will have to cross over Swansea Road (hopefully it won't be too busy) and pick up on the Swansea Road trail up to the York on Lilydale pub. We will here need to ride a short stretch of pavement (500m ish) before being able to cross back over Swansea Road and onto Olinda Creek trail and onwards to Lilydale Lake. We will circle around the lake and slightly detour north for a stop at The Iced Bakery. After a quick stop, head back to Lilydale lake and back to Croydon via Mooroolbark on the Carrum-Warby trail.
There are a few small sharpish hills on the route, unfortunately no way to avoid that, so maybe not suitable for complete beginner's.
See the RWGPS map here:

We will kick off from the start point @ 8.00am. I'll be on a black Giant gravel bike, and Dave on a black Hybrid bike.
At the moment the forecast looks good - partly sunny and 12 degrees @ 8am! Hopefully see you all there for a lovely morning out!
