PRESENTATIONS
Microservices with Symfony
I'm going to disprove a few myths about microservices. Firstly, you shouldn't bother until you're a certain size, secondly, and related, that you'll end up creating a system that is too complex. Both these are wrong because I can show you how to design your Symfony system in a microservice fashion, without spending the time in separately deploying your application. I'll also talk about the additional benefits that come with structuring your app in a microservice manner. Lastly we'll talk about how you can start moving towards a microservices architecture in an incremental way.
by Douglas Reith - I am the CTO at Glow, a consumer insights startup. I've worked for companies big and small and I'm passionate about building great solutions with open source software. I was introduced to Symfony while working at the ABC 6 years ago and immediately saw the benefits the framework had to offer. I grew up on Phillip Island and now live in Heidelberg with a family of three.
---
PHP-PM
An introduction to the PHP-PM project, a process manager, supercharger and load balancer for PHP applications. In this talk I will walk through how PHP-PM works, why it is great fit for Symfony applications, and also will demonstrate how to configure it for Symfony in particular.
by Tony Quilkey - Senior Architect/Engineer at Glow. Developing for the web and contributing to open source software since 2001. In that time I have helped companies large and small take their projects from concept to product as both an employee and as a professional consultant/contractor.
---
Symfony Workflow Component
An overview on the Symfony Workflow component, diving into the "How, Why & When To Use". I'll go over the component and discus why an object oriented manager helps ease the development and bloat that comes dealing with object states and workflows.
by Regan Lawton - Senior Platform Developer at Arkade Loyalty. I've made a career building applications big and small, with a focus of e-commence platforms, big data progressing and enterprise CRMs. I've been working in Symfony for close to 5 years. Originally from the NT, I now live in the wonderful city of Melbourne.
