Hey all! This group is for anyone wanting to connect with Tamilians in Melbourne.
Being an international student myself, I find Melbourne very welcoming and lively. However every now and then, I feel like I am missing the Tamil part of me in this city. I assume this may be the case for many Tamil students or new expats like me, so Vaange Pazhaguvom!
If you are from Tamil Nadu, Sri Lanka or the Tamil Diaspora, if you speak or understand Tamil, or if you are just anyone interested - this group gives you an opportunity to find your tribe and build your network with other Tamilians in the city.
This group was inspired by the Melbourne Kannadigas Meetup Group - so Kudos to them for setting an example!
Kindly read the terms before applying to be a member:
1. We aim to organise 1-2 events a month, or more depending on how well the group takes off. These would include, meet and greets, lunch/dinner, picnics, board games, movies, day-trips, etc.
2. We are open to suggestions and anyone hosting the event. Please feel free to contact the organisers if you wish to do so, there are no hard and fast rules.
3.Please RSVP at the earliest since it takes time and effort to organise events.
4. For security purposes, your membership will only be approved if you are 18+ and if you have a basic profile picture of yourself.
5. Kindly note that this is not a dating group, it is a platform for people to speak and socialise in Tamil, and potentially form long-lasting 'friendships'.
