Gav:
He's lead software developer with an interest in all aspects of digital product development. My technical focus lies in frontend web, backend application and cloud infrastructure development but I believe everyone should contribute to whatever they can during a product development lifecycle.

Michael:
He's a Ruby Backend Developer at StackSports, previous worked at NAB and tutored Advanced Java at RMIT. He has the uncommon experience of doing both a bootcamp and a Master of IT both during COVID lockdowns. He's been actively involved in the tech meet up space for the past 6 months but saw a gap in the lack of structured career coaching and mentorship so decided to encourage some experienced, knowledgable people together to help make these events happen.

Schedule:

7:05pm - 7:15pm Michael speaks about inspiration for Career Coaching sessions and what they will hopefully achieve.

7:15pm - 7:20pm Everyone in the call quickly introduces themselves and says why they are here.

7:20pm - 7:50pm Leah asks questions to Gav and Michael about their career journeys and what advice they would give to those breaking into tech. Also ask about how they looked for the right employer and what questions they asked in interviews. More questions will be asked and conversation will organically flow.

7:50pm - 8:30pm Conversation opens up to the floor with everyone on the call being invited to ask a question. Those who are new, career changers or graduates will be prioritised.

8:30pm Formally conclude the session. If you wish to stay on the call for another 30 minutes to chat, you are more than welcome to do so.

We will be running a panel format and seeking feedback about what you might want from a Career Coaching event. Your feedback is what will make these sessions get better over time. Please register so we know how many will be attending :)
I hope to see you there!
