I'm Lee Gunn – the founder and organiser of Melbourne Theatre Goers. Theatre is my absolute passion, and this group is all about sharing that love with others who enjoy bold, quirky, moving and thought-provoking performance.

We head out regularly to explore Melbourne’s vibrant theatre scene, and you’re welcome to join us. I usually book front-row seats (I prefer not having someone’s head in front of mine!), but you’re welcome to sit wherever suits you best. We always meet before the show – usually in the foyer about 30 mins before or nearby bar/café about 90 minutes beforehand for dinners and sometimes we reconnect afterwards for a chat and to swap impressions.

A few simple things to keep in mind:
Be friendly, open and respectful.
Make an effort to connect – say hello to at least one new person each time.
You must purchase your ticket before RSVPing.

Please only leave a Meetup review if you're marking all boxes positively – unticked boxes and partial or blank reviews count as negatives on their stupid system and that drops the star rating down - which is silly. Not everything in the world needs to be rated and I am not Uber or an airline. If that requirement isn't to your liking - please do not join us. If you RSVP and don’t show up, or if you haven’t attended any events within six months, I’ll assume you're no longer interested and remove you from the group.
Keep the discussion board positive and welcoming – it’s a space for celebrating the arts and each other.

Just so you know, it costs over $500 a year to run this group on Meetup. While I don’t charge members to participate, I do ask for mutual respect and thoughtful behaviour in return.
