Responsible JavaScript: Chapter 3

Details
Hey team!
For those of you new to this meetup, the book we are currently reading is Responsible JavaScript by Jeremy Wagner. The book has 7 chapters in total and from what we have read so far it's dense and thought-provoking with many potential discussion points. Each week we will discuss a single chapter from the book and share our thoughts on it and the concepts it explores. Because the book is not particularly long it will be easy for a newcomer to dedicate a couple of hours to the earlier chapters, catch up to the rest of us and participate in the discussion.

Some housekeeping:
You will be expected to have read the chapter of the week and to participate in the session to the best of your ability. If you are a regular and didn't find the time for the chapter then feel free to still attend, I understand that life can get in the way.
If it is your first week with the meetup and you just want to be a fly on the wall for the session to see what it's like then that is perfectly fine, but please turn your camera on and introduce yourself to the group. If you then decide to come back for subsequent weeks then it is expected that you will have purchased the current book and be up to date on the chapter of the week.
What to Expect:
At the start of the session, we will go around the virtual room and everyone will be expected to share their thoughts on the chapter of the week. This is a great time to ask questions to the group, to talk about your understanding of what the author was trying to get across and even challenge and question some of the points made in the chapter. We will then commence a more free-form discussion. Any questions you might have about the chapter are more than welcome, some very experienced developers attend this meetup so take advantage of their knowledge!
Through these discussions, you'll have the opportunity to:
✨ Gain a deeper understanding of how Javascript interfaces with the web and the various tools available to optimize it
✨ Exchange ideas and perspectives with fellow developers
✨ Clarify doubts and challenges you encounter in your learning journey
✨ Forge valuable connections with like-minded professionals
It is very important that everyone in the meeting feels safe to speak up, ask questions and generally contribute to the discussion. While debate and disagreements are welcome and encouraged mutual respect is a non-negotiable. Please bring your best selves to every meetup 🙂.
