Starting at Diggers Rest, we cycle to Organ Pipes national park (includes a walk down to the "pipes" so bring a bike lock and shoes you can walk in) then it's not far to ride to Watergardens shopping centre for our lunch.
We depart Watergardens to Caroline Springs via bike paths and wind our way back to town along the picturesque Kororoit Ck path to Federation Trail, Footscray Rd bike path and so on.
Should you need to leave the ride early then we will pass near Sunshine station which could save you an hour or so.
Pace: 22-25 kmh typically. Slower where appropriate.
Route Map and GPX files:

*Includes 1km on Calder Fwy emergency lane.
** Route may vary on the day.
Bike to bring: Most bikes will be okay but heavy MTBs may struggle with the distance.
Please check your bike before the day and especially the tyres and leave any panniers at home as they'll likely make you and us too slow.
Bring:
-Myki, water, spray jacket, bike lock, snacks & energy bars, spare tube and any tools
-Your phone with my number
-Bring bike shoes you can walk in and a small bike-lock
We'll walk about 250 metres down the hill at the national park and the lock will also come in handy at Watergardens Plaza where we'll have our lunch although someone (probably me) will stay to keep an eye on them at all times.
