As a member of our community, you'll have the opportunity to meet and make new friends, share your work (or works in progress), and receive thoughtful, gentle critique and constructive feedback in a friendly and supportive environment.

We'll explore different aspects of the writing journey — from developing your craft and finding inspiration to discovering opportunities for publication and learning how to help your work reach its intended audience.
Melbourne Writers AU welcomes writers across all genres and forms — fiction, non-fiction, memoir, poetry, prose and everything in between.

You don't need to be published. You don't need to have finished a manuscript. You don't even need to call yourself a writer yet.
You just need to want to write.

We ask only that members treat one another and their work with kindness, respect and professionalism. Sharing writing can take courage, and we want this to remain a place where people feel safe to experiment, learn, improve and be heard.
