#MelbRecMeetup #13 - Opportunities and challenges of scaling businesses
Details
Imagine this: you’re in talent acquisition for an organization that acquires another, and are charged with hiring 100 developers for that organization in 90 days. Now, also imagine that the company for which you’re hiring currently has a team of 45 employees, split between the United States and Argentina, which took them seven years to build. On top of that, the organization doesn’t yet have salaries or locations set for any new hires.
This is exactly the scenario David Nason, Infor’s Head of Talent Acquisition, once faced.
Crazy, isn’t it? But there are many other business stories like this hence we think, that’s a great topic for our upcoming Melbourne Recruitment Meetup.
Joining us to talk about the opportunities and challenges of scaling businesses will be Matthew Varley (COO, Xplor), Sara Ramirez Morales (Resident People Geek at A Cloud Guru) and, straight out of the UK, Hung Lee (CEO Workshape and Curator of Recruiting Brainfood).
About our speakers:
• Hung Lee is the founder of WorkShape.io - the revolutionary recruiting platform for Software engineers.
He is an industry professional with over 15 years’ experience as an agency recruiter, Recruitment manager, Internal Head of Talent, recruitment trainer and strategic advisor for rapid growth businesses in the London Tech Startup scene. Now CEO of an award-winning online recruiting platform WorkShape.io, Hung has been at the forefront in developing and promoting new ways in which companies can connect to talent.
He also curates Recruiting Brainfood (www.recruitingbrainfood.com) - popular weekly newsletter for the talent industry.

At Wego, a venture-backed startup based in Singapore, he led the Product, Engineering, and Sales teams – implementing a strong operating system for the organisation to enable growth.
• Sara Ramirez Morales is Director of Talent & Employee Success and leads A Cloud Guru's people strategy. Sara has also worked for great companies such as AirTree Ventures, LinkedIn and Deloitte in her career.
