Flyway Comedy Club showcases the funniest touring and local underground comedians we can find to Memphis audiences the last Saturday of every month. This month's headliner is NYC-based Sam Evans, who'll be running his new special he'll be recording later this summer and featuring Indianapolis-based comic and former Memphian Gwen Sunkel (Vice TV, Limestone Comedy Festival) and a tba lineup of the regular strange creatures we see being funny at other bars around the city, this is a fun lineup you don't want to miss. Come have a drink and be dumb for a bit.
We're changing up our usual format this month to fit two shows in the night!
Early Show: Doors at 6:30, Show at 7:00 PM
Late Show: 9:00 PM

About Sam:
Sam Evans is a comic originally from Cincinnati, OH. After winning the 2012 Funniest Person in Cincinnati competition, Sam relocated to New York City in order to pursue comedy further, and was rewarded in 2014, when he was selected as one of the New Faces of the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in 2014. He has been featured on the Audible comedy podcast "Sounds Like America" as well as part of Cracked Comedy's digital series. In 2020, he released his debut standup album "Sweet Baby Boy" with Blonde Medicine records, which debuted at #1 on iTunes.
About Gwen:
Gwen Sunkel is an Indianapolis comedian, emcee, and character actor. She performs regularly at Helium Comedy Club and The White Rabbit Cabaret where she is a cast member with An Evening With The Authors*. You’ve seen her at Cincinnati Brew Ha-Ha, Yuckfest, and Limestone Comedy Festival and on the Vice TV Series ‘Hunters.’ Gwen is also contributing writer for AWF Magazine. She is a producer with Rocketship Comedy and co-hosts a series of benefit shows that have raised over $15,000 for reproductive health organizations in the Midwest.
