About us

What is it
This is a relaxed, welcoming journaling circle for men 40+ who would like to slow down, reflect, and connect with other men.

What do I need
No writing experience is necessary, and there’s no right or wrong way to journal. We’ll spend some quiet time writing on a prompt (example journal prompts below), followed by optional conversation and discussion. You can bring your own journal, or a small writing pad and pen will be provided to you.

Why do it
The goal isn’t therapy or self-improvement homework—it’s simply a chance to step away from the usual routine, put some thoughts on paper, and have genuine conversation with other men in a comfortable setting.

Where and when is it
Meetings will be held at local libraries in the Minneapolis/Twin Cities area. We’ll determine the best day and time based on interest from group members.
Come as you are. Write as much or as little as you like, and participate in the conversation at whatever level feels comfortable.

Examples journal entries

Gratitude & Support: Who is one person in my corner right now that I appreciate, and have I told them?

Current Focus: Where do I need to set a better boundary or say "no" in my life right now to protect my energy?
Unseen Wins: What is one small victory or proud moment I had recently that no one else noticed?

Carried Weight: What is one expectation, frustration, or worry I am carrying right now that I could use some perspective on?

The Real Check-in: On a scale of 1 to 10, how am I really doing this week—not "fine," but honestly?
