What we’re about
The Men Being Well program ("MBW") is an initiative by Relationships Australia Victoria and the Life Is Foundation. Men Being Well hosts monthly in-person Men’s Gatherings or conversation groups the last Wednesday each month, and several Men’s Day Retreats throughout the year that include discussion about life issues and challenges as well as specific themes at times.
Event dates are posted on this Meetup group or can be viewed on the Relationships Australia Victoria website.
***Please note that you need to have been in contact with a program facilitator prior to attending any in-person meeting.***
MBW began in 2021, emerging from the former DadsLink program. Men Being Well is focused on positive mental health, wellbeing and resilience and the programs include regular general discussion about life issues and challenges that participants may face, as well as particular topics and themes at times. The format is relaxed and welcoming and a safe place to reflect on your own personal journey.
We look forward to welcoming you at Men Being Well events.

Men's Day Retreat: Finding Place through the Power of Story
The Retreat, Warburton, Yarra Valley, AUYOU are invited to join us for our Day Retreat for Men on Sunday 23rd NOVEMBER from 10 AM to 4 PM at The Retreat in Warburton in the scenic Yarra Valley.
Our theme for the Retreat is Finding Place and Belonging through Story as below.
“The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.” -- Joseph Campbell
Finding our ‘Place’ has many dimensions and can be difficult to define. It involves a sense of acceptance of who we are and what we are doing. Finding our place or having a sense of truly belonging has ‘inner’ and ‘outer’ aspects and is fundamental to personal growth and wellbeing.
And the way we come to know ourselves and our place (layer by layer) is through story, the telling and retelling of our lives set in the context of the wider world. Through sharing our stories, we connect, build rapport and relationships with others based on fellowship and inclusion.
This Retreat will focus on each of our personal stories and reflections on finding our sense of ‘place’ or belonging as an integral part of wellbeing.
"True belonging doesn't require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are" -- Brené Brown
RSVP for the day retreat which provides space for discussion and reflection on each person's own situation. The day also includes a walk by the river after lunch.
Our Day Retreat is open to all men and offers an opportunity to reflect on different aspects of well-being and consider insights on living well.
