We are excited to announce our very first Mendix Meetup in Zwolle! This event is a unique opportunity for developers in the region to connect, share knowledge, and explore the future of low-code development.

Our theme is "Smart Mendix Chat: Integrating AI to Automate Logic."

In this session, we will demonstrate how to move beyond traditional user interfaces by building an intelligent, conversational chat within a Mendix application. We’ll show you how to create a system that understands natural language commands to query data and trigger complex business logic.

To achieve this, we will dive into the practical integration of Mendix with a modern tech stack, including:

• External AI Services: Leveraging the power of large language models through providers like AWS, OpenAI or Gemini.
• Function Calling: A deep dive into this key technique, allowing the AI model to intelligently decide which Mendix microflow to execute based on the user's request.
• Automation Platforms: Orchestrating workflows and connecting to other systems using powerful tools like N8N and **Make.com**.

"We'll use a practical scenario to explore the possibilities: imagine a user asking, "Which engineers are available next Monday?" or "Create a draft schedule for the new project." We will break down the conceptual architecture of how an AI can interpret this request, trigger the correct logic in Mendix, and deliver the result."
