Cycling the Ossagon loop - Redwood National Forest - Day 2

Details

Plan a trip., Day 2

It's a good four hour drive from our home in Ukiah, and I invite you to join me in my favorite places as day trips during summer vacation.

Today we'll cycle from Prairie Creek to the coast, following the coast going south through Gold Bluff's beach and over the hill to Newton B Drury parkway and back to Praire Creek. A few of the miles will be shared with cars on a dirt road, going uphill. It's about - 20-some mile bike ride, Up & down then mostly flat. The picture is Fern Canyon, half way along the cycle. We'll do a big loop. It's a bucket-list item for me. Unfortunately (to me) only regular bikes are allowed on certain sections of the trail. No electric bikes, no dogs. I have been on sections of this many times. It's a place I go to get away from cell phones, technology, and to be in nature.

I found this link on the Trail. Ossagon Trail Loop for Mountain bikes.

Please join me at Redwood National Park. I'll be arriving August 1 and leaving August 6, I reserved a campground for two at Elk Country rv resort, Tent camping in #96. Not everyone camps, but if you like to join me on day hikes, I have a lot of experience in this area. I would love to share my favorite locations. I'll be posting pictures here. I can recommend staying in motels in Trinidad, Arcata, if you prefer hoteling to camping.
