Join us to discuss The Martian, Andy Weir’s debut novel, nominated as one of America’s best-loved novels by PBS’s The Great American Read.

After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces the rest of his crew to evacuate, astronaut Mark Watney finds himself stranded and completely alone on Mars. Assumed dead and with no way to signal Earth for a rescue, Mark must rely on his wits and his ingenuity to keep himself alive against impossible odds.

About Andy Weir:

Andy Weir built a two-decade career as a software engineer until the success of his first published novel, The Martian, allowed him to live out his dream of writing full-time. He is a lifelong space nerd and a devoted hobbyist of such subjects as relativistic physics, orbital mechanics, and the history of manned spaceflight. He also mixes a mean cocktail. He lives in California.
