Day Worker Dreams: Traveling Stitches

Details
Each square of every quilt in the Traveling Stitches exhibition depicts the stories, memories, dreams, ideas and hopes of the day worker who created it. Meet Mountain View Day Worker Center Executive Director Maria Marroquin, and learn about the quilting project and the stories of the people behind it.
The Day Worker Center’s quilt project was launched in 2010, part of the center’s English language-learning program. More than 140 men and women created quilt blocks depicting what was on their minds, pouring their passions, hopes and concerns into these small squared of fabric.
Maria Marroquin and art facilitator Naomi Zamir will visit the library to talk about the quilt project and the Day Worker Center and its participants.
Traveling Stitches: Quilts Made at the Day Worker Center of Mountain View is on display at Menlo Park Library May 14-June 24, 2025.
