Join Baba Shibambo for a fun, interactive, hands-on musical experience! Shibambo shares music and traditions of his Zulu homeland.

Experience:

  • Playing music on traditional African instruments
  • Hearing an authentic ZULU folktale set to music
  • Learning traditional African dance moves

About Baba Shibambo:

Baba Shibambo is a master hand drummer, international touring performer, and recording artist. He is Zulu, born in South Africa during the Apartheid era. Shibambo began playing traditional African drums as a boy, and eventually came to tour internationally with South African musical and theatrical productions, even playing for Nelson Mandela. He is a multi-instrumentalist, playing percussion, African djembe, uudu, conga, marimba, mbira (kalimba or finger piano), and Bushman's bow.
