Ultimate Book Group Crossover: The Golden Compass

Menlo Park Library’s Middle Grade Book Group and Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Group team up to discuss a single book in this special session.

Check out The Golden Compass by Phillip Pullman, and join us to share your thoughts with fellow readers of all ages. Open to anyone age 8+, whether or not you’ve attended either group before. Parents are encouraged to join in.

In The Golden Compass, Lyra’s life in Oxford is upset by a series of troubling events: the attempted poisoning of her uncle Lord Asriel, a series of kidnappings that include her best friend Roger, and news about a mysterious substance called Dust. Lyra and her daemon Pantalaimon set out on a journey to save her friend and uncover the truth.

Parents, please be advised that this book has a publisher’s age range of 10 and up.
