A Historical Look at the Art of Drag

Explore the cultural history of drag as a powerful form of artistic expression!

We’ll trace the evolution of drag from early theatrical traditions, counterculture scenes, and historically marginalized communities to its important role in contemporary pop culture, social activism, and modern self-expression.

Blending storytelling with insight into the artform, our presenters, beloved San Francisco drag entertainers Elsa Touche and Mx. Kiki Krunch, will highlight how drag challenges norms, builds community, and creates creative space for people all over the world.
