If you see clients, you see clients with eating disorders. Whether or not it’s your specialty, these conditions are common – and yet, most mental health providers receive little or no formal training on how to identify and address them.

In this 90-minute interactive session, Rachel Larkey, MS, RD, CDN, CLC, AAC, CEDS, Senior Dietary Manager at THIRA Health and certified eating disorder specialist, will help you build a solid foundation for understanding eating disorders and eating disorder treatment.

In this presentation, we’ll cover:

  1. An introduction to eating disorders and diagnostic criteria
  2. An overview of Health at Every Size (HAES) principles
  3. How to screen, assess, monitor, and evaluate clients with eating disorders
  4. The interdisciplinary care team
  5. Case studies and real-world examples

Following the lecture portion (~60 min), we’ll work through case studies together – applying what we’ve learned to real scenarios, identifying red flags, and discussing how to respond within your scope of practice.

We’ll also make time for brief introductions at the start so participants can connect and share referral interests. Additional resources and references will be provided after the workshop for anyone who wants to deepen their learning.

The session will be recorded (with intros cut), and the replay will be available to all who RSVP.
