Politics, Ethics, and Therapy: Sustaining Your Passion in a Divided World (CE)
Details
How do you keep practicing, and keep caring, when the world outside the therapy room feels split down the middle? Few trainings address this head-on, and it can be a hard thing to talk about anywhere. This session makes room for that conversation, with space to actually talk, not just listen.
Learning Objectives
- Understand how psychological rigidity affects ethical decision-making and conflict
- Learn to distinguish between conflict avoidance and constructive engagement
- Apply The And Way model blending parts work, assertive communication, and dialectics
- Develop tools to counter dehumanization by fostering empathy, curiosity, and psychological flexibility
What We'll Explore
- Why politics and ethics are showing up in the therapy room more than ever, and how to hold it
- Psychological flexibility as a skill for practitioners, not just clients
- Sustaining your passion for the work when the surrounding climate is heavy
- Open dialogue: bring your questions and your own experience
Who This Is For
Licensed and pre-licensed mental health therapists who want space for dialogue on a topic most trainings avoid.
