Adult Mental Health Support Group (Peer-Led)

Details
This is a Peer-Led Group. Please see disclaimer at bottom for more Info.
Welcome! If you are seeking community around mental health or are seeking a safe place to share whatever is on your mind, you've come to the right place. All adults are welcome regardless of religion, background, sexuality, race, etc. We will have thought-provoking conversations that center on Mental Health, Healing & Connection.
When/Where: Naper Boulevard Library Conference Room, Located on the Lower Level, on Saturday, August 30th. Group runs from 10:30 am-12:00 pm. The Library Address is as follows: 2035 S Naper Blvd, Naperville, IL 60565.
Group Agenda: At the beginning of each group, we will go around the room and do a check-in. Everyone will state their name, answer a simple icebreaker, and then pose a topic to the group that they wish to discuss OR let the group know if they just want to do a personal sharing. A personal sharing is defined as anything that involves the person opening up about a struggle they have had, are currently having, or will have. Once check-in is complete, the floor will be open to peer-led discussion.
Note: This group is what YOU make of it. If you come seeking advice from peers, you will get it. If you just want to vent, you will be satisfied. If you attend group and don’t want to share at all, you don’t have to.
What to Bring: Nothing! Just yourself, an open mind, and an open heart :)
DISCLAIMER:
I am not a therapist or licensed mental health professional. I’m a human being, just like you, seeking to build community around the topic of mental health. While I have personal experience participating in and facilitating similar groups, I do not have any clinical training or professional credentials.
This is a peer-led support group and is not a substitute for professional therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or crisis intervention. I fully encourage anyone who feels the need to seek help from a licensed professional.
No one in this group—including myself—is responsible for your well-being. If asked, I can share a simple list of local or online professional resources. This list is offered as a courtesy, based on basic public research. I do not personally endorse or vet any specific provider, and it is your responsibility to evaluate whether a resource is right for you.
By joining this group, you acknowledge that participation is voluntary, peer-based, and not a form of professional care. We’re here to support each other in community—but ultimately, each of us is responsible for our own mental health journey. The hope is that no one has to walk that path alone.
