What we’re about
This is a group for anyone who wants to look after their mental health. We organise walks in nature around London to encourage you to get outside, get some gentle exercise, meet other understanding people and take some time to appreciate your surroundings.
This provides 3 of the NHS 5 steps to mental wellbeing - connect with others, be physically active, and pay attention to the present moment.
You can talk or listen if you want to, or just walk quietly and enjoy the scenery. Maybe you just need some motivation to get out of the house, or you might be feeling lonely and you want to connect with others. There is absolutely no pressure to do anything or share anything you are not comfortable with.
This isn't a group for hardcore walking enthusiasts, but a support group on legs. We walk at a gentle pace and stop whenever we feel like it. Members must respect other people's feelings and conversation boundaries, be non-judgemental, and support the values of equality, diversity and inclusion.
It can sometimes be hard to make that first step, so why not try it here. That's what we're about. We have a group of open minded and supportive regular members, and are building a little community of people who look out for each other. We encourage members to act as stand-in hosts if they want to, or to host a walk in their own area.
Please note that we are not mental health professionals or counsellors. All we offer is a bit of company, shared experiences and a chance to chat. If you are experiencing mental health difficulties, please seek appropriate professional help or contact a dedicated support helpline. Information is given below.
