Details

A chance to wander through Asia culture via a vast buffet plus some special order sites. There are Thai, Korean and Hong Kong dishes but the emphasis is more on Japanese and Chinese (and the Peking duck plate is excellent). You can wake the taste buds with Chinese dim sums, Japanese sushi, or Korean soup, before gliding into a world of main dishes before coming down to earth again with a tempting choice of desserts. I have booked initially for 8 but can increase numbers if needed. We start at 7pm as it fills up quickly by 7:30pm. The premises are well served by buses (it is next to the bus station) and train services (10 minute walk from station) plus car parking is free after 6pm in the adjacent Market Quay car park. I will arrive at 6:45pm to claim the seating and leave a message as to where we will be. Ask for Leslie's table. You pay at the entrance (£22.95) and buy a drink (beers such as cobra or asahi, wines, an excellent saki, soft drinks etc), but there is also a free water fountain. There is a special summer offer this year of "buy two beers and get one free". The staff are mostly from Hong Kong so they know all about excellent buffet spreads. Your arrival time can be a bit flexible so no problem if you come a few minutes late, that's the beauty of the setup - but we must know you are still coming so we can keep your place available! Be careful re driving if you buy the excellent saki as it is very strong... (Best to take the bottle home with you or have a co -driver.). The restaurant closes at 10pm.
