About us
Love cruising — or just cruise-curious? You're in the right harbor. ⚓
Meridian Cruise Lovers is a friendly, no-pressure community for people in Meridian and the greater Treasure Valley who love life at sea — or are thinking about their very first sailing. Whether you've logged 20 cruises or you're still wondering if you'd get seasick, you'll fit right in.
Who should join
Seasoned cruisers who want people to swap ship stories with (finally, an audience!)
First-timers with a hundred questions and nobody to ask
Families, couples, solo travelers, and retirees dreaming about their next getaway
Anyone who loves Disney, the Caribbean, Alaska, Mexico, or river cruising through Europe
What we'll do
We meet about once a month around Meridian — coffee shops, patios, and other easygoing spots — for things like:
Cruise story swaps and photo nights
"Ask a travel agent anything" Q&A sessions
New ship and itinerary showcases (the good stuff, before it sells out)
First-timer nights: what to pack, what to skip, what nobody tells you
And for anyone who's interested: optional group sailings, where we all book the same ship and cruise together
Who's hosting
We're Matt & Cherie Kane — a veteran-owned, family-run Cruise Planners travel agency right here in Meridian (kanetravel.com). We're an EarMarked Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, we plan destination weddings at sea, and we're on our own family mission: 18 countries before our kids turn 18 (currently at 11 countries and 6 cruises). We started this group because cruising is better with people to share it with.
The fine print (the good kind)
Joining is free, meetups are free, and there is zero sales pressure. We're travel agents, so if you ever want help planning, we're happy to — but this group is a community first, not a pitch. Come for the stories, stay for the people.
Bring a friend, bring your questions, and let's talk about where the next ship is headed. 🚢
