Facility Walking Tour - New ACHD Traffic Operations Center

Ever wondered HOW Ada County Highway District (ACHD)...

• Monitors traffic and makes changes to signal timing, especially for events?
• Identifies equipment failures in the field?

Join us for a facility tour of the new (completed Fall 2024) ACHD Traffic Management Center, 12590 West Franklin Road, Boise.

Tour the three-building facility that monitors 222 traffic cameras and >400 traffic signals across 6 cities in Ada County, allowing for ACHD to adjust signal timings in real-time.

A separate warehouse includes the paint shop and sign shop and stores large equipment, including traffic poles and mast arms. We'll see demonstrations of the signals and drones, we'll tour the materials laboratory, and see their trucks.

IMPORTANT:

• Tour requires ability to walk/stand ~3 hours
• Long-sleeve, pants preferred. Closed-toe shoes required.
