Fernkloof Nature Reserve Botanical walk, Hermanus. INTERMEDIATE LEVEL HIKE.

Details
Join us in the lovely Fernkloof Nature Reserve as we join up with the Hermanus Botanical Society on one of their guided walks to see and learn more about the fynbos. The walk will be at a slow pace as we navigate a few of the different trails and stop to discuss and observe the different types of fynbos plants. This is your time to ask questions and learn some of the names of the plants.
The paths are well marked and are mainly undulating gravel trails. There will be some uphill, but not more that 350 metres in elevation. You will get fabulous views over Hermanus town, the coast and of Walker Bay (weather depending).
This is a 2Bc graded route.

* There is a R40 (cash) fee for non Meridian Hiking Club members to be paid at the start of the hike. (Please bring the exact amount)
Entrance to the Fernkloof Nature Reserve is free, BUT please consider a donation to the Hermanus Botanical Society after the hike.
WE WILL MEET AT THE VISITORS CENTRE FIRST AND THEN JOIN THE BOTANICAL GROUP AFTER THAT.
At the end of the hike, there is an option to spend some time walking through the Fernkloof gardens and Nursery near the car parking area. If we finish the walk with the Botanical Society early, then I can still take those who are interested on another walk in the reserve (time permitting).
