Come and enjoy another lovely sunset walk up Slangkop mountain to the old Radar Station (Cobra Camp) and then this time over to the coast to Soetwater, then back to the lighthouse and our cars.

On a clear day there are gorgeous views overlooking Kommetjie, Noordhoek, Hout Bay, the back of Table Mountain and towards Scarborough.

MUST BRING:
2 litres of water, sunset drinks/snacks, a hat, a warm layer of clothing and a raincoat. Bring sunset drinks if you would like to.

LEVEL OF FITNESS NEEDED:
There is a short steep uphill of about 100 m on uneven ground at the beginning of the hike, then it is undulating over various terrains... sand and some rock. The hike is graded as a Meridian 2Bc.

COST:
Free for Meridain Hiking Club Members. Please show your membership card (which is valid until Feb. 2026) on arrival.
R40 cash for Non Meridian Hiking Club members (please bring the exact amount).

MEETING POINT:
In the parking zones at the end of Van Imhoff Way where it joins Beach Road (by the water's edge at the Kom).

DOGS:
Well socialised dogs are welcome so long as owners have a Table Mountain Activity Card, bring a leash, doggie poo bags, enough water for their dogs, dog treats and put their dogs on a leash if they are disturbing any of the attendees in the group. Dog owners are fully responsible to look after their own dog at all times and are accountable if there should be any injury caused to any attendee on our hike.
