Chapman's Peak: Intermediate hike 2Bc
Details
Come and join us for a beautiful hike to the top of Chapman's Peak (592 m above sea level). The views over Hout Bay, Noordhoek, Fish Hoek and the peninsula are spectacular from the top on a clear day.
We walk along a clear path, with some uneven ground to get to the top. It is steep initially and then it becomes more gradual. There are some rocks to climb up at the top to get to the beacon.
The pace will be relaxed, but not slow, so you will need to be fairly fit. It should take us about one and a half hour's to the top, where we will have a good break for a picnic/photos, and then about an hour to get back down to our cars.
This is a 2Bc Meridian graded hike. Please see the link below for details.

Where to meet:
We will meet at the Chapman's Peak hike signage board in the parking area by the check point on the middle of Chapman's Peak Drive.
Drive onto Chapman's Peak drive from the Hout Bay side. At the toll station you can ask for a free Day Pass (which lasts until 18.30pm in winter time), or you can pay the day fee if you would like to stay on after 18.30pm or if you would like to drive out at to the other end of Chapman's Peak drive on the Noordhoek side. You then drive along Chapman's peak drive until the turning point for the Day Pass (which is about half way along, and where someone will stop you and ask to see your ticket/Day Pass). You cannot go further than this point with the free Day Pass. At this point, on the left-hand side, you will see a small car park. Park there.
