What we're about

This book club is for those interested in reading and discussing contemporary non-fiction books in various areas of science and technology. Members don't need to be scientists to join but merely curious about the subject matter and willing to learn as well as express their opinion or ask challenging questions. Books chosen will be geared toward the general population as opposed to academic level texts. Areas of interest include: medicine and biology, artificial intelligence, physics, space & the universe, climate and weather, among others. I will suggest the first couple books but I expect to go based on suggestions and consensus once we get going. Some examples include "The Tangled Tree," "The Dreamt Land," "Midnight in Chernobyl," and "I Contain Multitudes." Meeting frequency is going to be monthly on Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm. Initial meetings will be via Zoom but we could transition to in-person if we find a convenient location within the Lawrence to Manchester area. The hope is that you will read the book or good portions of the book before attending in order to enhance the experience for everyone. Thanks and looking forward to seeing you soon.
