Otterly Amazing: River Otter Education Day
Celebrate World Otter Day with us at this fun, family-friendly event all about North America’s playful and elusive river otters! Stop by interactive stations to explore real “show and tell” artifacts, uncover fascinating otter facts, and get creative with otter-themed arts and crafts. You’ll also enjoy captivating video footage featuring the otters of Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge—giving you a rare glimpse into their watery world. Perfect for curious kids, nature lovers, and wildlife enthusiasts of all ages!

Program Presenter: Megan Stolen
Senior Scientist at Blue World Research Institute
Megan is a wildlife biologist and forensic scientist focused on coastal and aquatic species. She has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in biology from UCF and a second master’s degree in wildlife forensic science from UF. Her work seeks to understand the harmful effects that humans have on the ecology and health of lots of animals from large whales to small coastal species including otters, gopher tortoises and pelicans. She teaches at two universities and is a lifelong learner herself.
