SECOND OF OUR TWO APRIL MEETS.

REGULAR POPULAR, FRIENDLY SOCIAL GROUP:)

OUR FRIENDLY, BIG (45-70 people, all ages, 18+)LGBTQ SOCIAL GROUP:)

Though a big group, it is split up into small and medium-sized tables(see picture on front page of this group, for inside of venue); with room to mingle/change table. So, it is not overwhelming!

MEETS EVERY 4 TUESDAYS,AT PEN FACTORY.

INCLUDES WELCOME/INTRO MEET FOR NEWCOMERS at 6.30(see below); and a second INTRO/WELCOME MEET AT 7.30.

SAFER SPACE GROUP:

A group for LGBTQ (0ver 18) people ONLY; however, although the venue is LGBTQ-friendly,it is mixed. Our area is semi-separate(though still in the same room!)

THE GROUP IS SUITABLE FOR LGBTQ people who have just come out, or never been to an lgbtq group before; or if you are new to the area.

But ALL LGBTQ(18+) people welcome, WHEREVER you are on your journey:)

PEN FACTORY IS NEXT TO THE EVERYMAN THEATRE, in Hope St(Catholic Cathedral end); down the stairs(our space is pictured on the front page of the group); please read the :"how to find us" section(box on the right of this page)

If you are new,TRY NOT TO BE TOO NERVOUS: our hosts will be seated near the entrance to the main room(down the stairs)looking out for you as you enter the venue, and will chat to you and direct you to the welcome mini-meets(if you want to attend one of the meets!).

If you have just come out as lgbtq, or have not been to an lgbtq event before, or to this particular group, we strongly recommend this introduction/welcome meet:)

FIRST INTRODUCTION/WELCOME MEET, at 6.30;so you gently relax into the evening; and chat to a smaller group of people, and share interests:)
The intro meet is not, however, obligatory, but strongly recommended!

SECOND INTRODUCTION/WELCOME MEET AT 7.30

NB RUNNING THE SECOND INTRO MEET(7.30) DEPENDS ON THE NUMBERS OF FIRST-TIME ATTENDEES (usually 10-20!).;
SO PLEASE TRY AND ARRIVE, if possible, for the 6.30 Meet

If you arrive after BOTH meets, you will be individually warmly welcomed and introduced to people(if you want!) by our hosts:)

ACCESS-FRIENDLY:

There is a LIFT for a wheelchair/if you cannot manage stairs down to our area(there are about 10/12 stairs.)

There will be space for a wheelchair/other mobility aid to move around in the area round the door, where we are seated; however, as we often have 60 plus attendees, there may be not enough room to move a wheelchair WITHIN the rest of our area.

There is a (recommended)MINIMUM SPEND OF APPROX £6(TOTAL, for the whole evening)PER PERSON.

You pay, at the bar, directly, per person, per item.NO group bills!

The (recommended)minimum spend is to make it worthwhile for the venue to host us.Any money, therefore, goes direct to the venue, not to our group!

We are wholly non profit-making; and unfunded

Pen Factory sells alcohol drinks(beers, spirits, wine); soft drinks; tea and coffee and hot chocolate.
There is a tapas menu; food till 9 ish)

COVID-RELATED GUIDELINES.
These are strong recommendations, for everyone's comfort. Thanks.
1. Please take a lateral flow test in the course of the day of the event, IE BEFORE the event; and do not attend if it is positive.
2. Please do not attend if you have any significant cold/cough/flu-like symptoms, unless you have tested that day;and your test is negative.
3. There is no social distancing at the venue. Please take this into account in your decision to attend.
