"What happens to a person's consciousness when their body has been perfectly duplicated? Will it inhabit either, neither, or both bodies?"
A (physicist) visitor last week presented this fascinating 'thought experiment' to argue (reductio ad absurdum, for those keeping score) against the opinion (called materialism) that the universe consists only of matter, thus denying the existence of consciousness. On a grander scale, the question concerns the nature of the soul.

What is the soul, where does it 'reside', what happens to it when the body dies, what is its relationship to a future body (reincarnation), the body of another still-living being (possession), the participation of other souls during mediumship, channeling and healing, and extraordinary cases of (1) identical twins separated at birth, unknown to one another, yet living virtually identical lives, and (2) persons who were present at two locations at the same time!

Lots to think about - but can it be rationally explained? Yes!

Don't wait to die to find out how to live!
