The Paranormal Jesus: Encounters with Mystery!

Mystics of every age reported similar experiences and developed extraordinary abilities, and some even expressed novel ideas about the nature of reality quite contrary to prevailing orthodoxies and doctrines. While most kept to themselves, one stands out for his willingness to share this wisdom with others: Jesus. No, not the "Christ" guy - just a profoundly talented and deeply spiritual person who shared his insights into the powers of mind and how thoughts and intentions affect reality, stubborn facts (not incidentally) supported by the 20th century's double-slit experment and Placebo Effect.
Is it mere coincidence that his abilities to know and to heal conform so neatly with areas delineated and studied in parapsychology 2,000 years later? Jeffrey Kripal (Dean of Graduate Studies in Religion, Rice University), Dale Allison (Dearborn Professor of New Testament, Princeton Theological Seminary) and Roland Faber (Claremont School of Theology) certainly don't think so. Kripal called this observation "Amazing!" and Faber deemed it "Very important."
Let's look at why we should take this more-enlightened approach seriously (again, the "Christ" thing aside). We'll follow with a short service of gratitude, meditation and healing, and end around 11:30 am.
