All religions, every one of them, began with experiences that utterly change perspectives. The Koran, A Course in Miracles, the Bah'ai texts, all were channeled. Christian Science and Spritualism were based on phenomena later scientifically determined to be valid: biofeedback & placebo effect for Christian Science; ESP, psychokinesis, and post-mortem survival for Spiritualism. Indeed, Christianity would not exist were it not for witnesses whose astonishment led them to dedicate their lives to reporting these same phenomena.

Maybe it's time we rethink the matter of 'religion.' Since every experience occurs within the realm of nature, all experiences, no matter how weird, must by definition be 'natural.' Over time, these natural albeit unusual experiences came to be grossly misinterpreted as supernatural that formed a basis for religious doctrines far removed from the experiences that gave rise to them, in short, simulacra.

This Sunday, we'll focus on our own such experiences that persuaded us that nature is spiritual. Lots of folks need to share and hear stories about what happened to them and others, how it rocked our world, and how we might make sense of it. Time permitting, we'll present solid evidence of the same kinds of events that religions have - unwittingly - distorted, as a starting point to revisioning humanity's future path as spiritual but not religious.
