Worldwide Meteor Day - Hong Kong

Meteor 1.0 is here!

Thursday 6th November will be Worldwide Meteor Day.

There will be a Meetup in Hong Kong starting at at 7:30pm. This time it's at The Hive, Wan Chai.

Many thanks to General Assembly (https://generalassemb.ly/hong-kong) for once again providing a space for this event.

We've also Partnered with HKWD (https://www.meetup.com/HK-Web-Developers/events/216743012/) to bring an event packed with even more content!

Main Presentations

• Chris Hitchcott will be bringing you up to date on the latest goings on in Meteor.

• Andrew Betts from FT Labs will be talking about upgrading the web with a polyfill service. He'll also reflect on Fastclick, FT's first and still most popular project, which is now integrated into Meteor core.

• Daniel Chcouri, creator of tap:i18n (https://github.com/TAPevents/tap-i18n/), will be talking about a brand new package he has created, orbit:permissions (https://github.com/TAPevents/orbit-permissions).

Lightning Talks
(5-10 Minute talks + Q&A on Projects made with Meteor.)

• Viacheslav Bessonov on a Personal Tracking Platform

• Jason Li on 'Building DearAgents in 30 days' - Tips, tricks and shortcuts for getting something up and running ASAP

• Meteor T-Shirt available to anyone who contributes with a short demo (lightning talk). There will be a chance to win them for everyone else, but there's a limited supply!

As always there will be free beer + soft drinks, and Meteor swag.
