Coder Academy is a boot camp in the city, full of career change students who are learning to code. They go through 6 months of intensive learning and coding, and in the last 3 weeks have to do a project for a customer, where they deliver a piece of software.
There were 2 teams, the "Dream Meme Team" of 4 people, and "The Meteorites" which was a team of 5.
Both teams will come and talk about the experience of working as a team on their first real-world project, show you the designs that they made, demonstrate the app, and show you some code.
They are currently doing one month internships, and are looking to be hired.
8:00pm – Trustmapping
Trustmapping is a startup in the educational space. School students are asked to complete an in-class survey, and rate their fellow students on a scale of 1-5, where 1 is "actively against me", and 5 is "trusted ally". This data is plotted on various charts, which provides powerful insights for the teachers and school administrators into class dynamics.
Matt Wiseman and Mike King will demonstrate the app, walk you through the architecture, look at the tools we are using to develop, test and deploy, and show you the code.
