Selfportraits – Lena Kunz & Louise de Bastier · in French and German

In selfportraits, photographer Lena Kunz and writer Louise de Bastier set photography and poetry in dialogue. The book explores the possibility of a gaze of one’s own, our relationship with the body and the female self-portrait from a feminist perspective. Louise de Bastier wrote a bilingual text (French/German, translated by Lisa Detzel-Varouxis) in response to fifteen photographs by Lena Kunz. It is the first book from Mouche Books, a small publisher based in Paris and Berlin. Both artists will be with us for a reading and a conversation about language, photography and the body. The book will be available on the evening.
