Kaplan Professional (part of Kaplan Learning Institute), in collaboration with Metis U.S., will be hosting a One Day Bootcamp so you can experience what the Metis Data Science Bootcamp @ Kaplan is really like!

You will receive a free interactive training session in Python and data modelling.

10.30am - 12pm - Python Basics
12pm - 1pm - Lunch
1pm - 2.30pm - Pandas + Scikit Learn

Start the day with an introduction to Python and discover what is needed to build a model with data.

After lunch (which is provided), you will be presented with the dataset for the day, and learn how to load, clean and prepare it with Pandas - a main feature of the Python Data Science Toolkit.

This is followed by an introduction to Scikit Learn - a module for machine learning - and progress to working in groups to build a model using data that you've already worked on.

Finally, you will get the opportunity to share your results in a short presentation demonstrating the model and data.

About Metis Data Science Bootcamp @ Kaplan:
Kaplan Professional (part of Kaplan Learning Institute) is bringing the highly successful US-based Metis Data Science Bootcamp to Singapore with an Asian perspective, with the support of the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). Participants will learn modern data science skills and tools, such as Python, SQL, machine learning, interactive data visualisation and other modern big data tools and architecture.

The Data Science Bootcamp is conducted over a period of 12 weeks (not including 25 hours of pre-work) — 7 hours a day; 5 days a week. Prior to graduation, participants are required to complete five projects for their online portfolio – four smaller projects designed to “train up” different key aspects of data science and a Passion Project that they can present to potential employers. Proposals for Passion Projects will be reviewed and approved in advance by the Metis Faculty member(s). Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates will be awarded a Data Science Certificate.

In addition to the bootcamp training, participants will also receive career coaching, talks and advisory sessions throughout the course of the bootcamp.

Recruiters from dedicated Placement Providers will actively reach out to current students and alumni with potential job openings and accord priority to our students. However, the onus remains on students and alumni to seek and secure employment.
