What we’re about

Metro-Detroit Recreational Indoor/Outdoor Pick-up Basketball

This group is for anyone interested in some clean, fun, recreational indoor and outdoor pick-up basketball in the Metro Detroit area, without having to sign up for a league or expensive gym membership.

We are open to everyone at all skill levels, young and old alike from all walks of life, assuming you have basic basketball skills. We ask that you play with respect and care towards the other players. That means no hard fouls, trash talking, or showboating. Physical play is acceptable to a limit: no one wants to miss work, school, or anything else due to avoidable injuries.

Most all games are 5 v 5 full court (unless fewer than 10 players show up, which is rare). Games are relatively short timewise, and event sign-ups are limited, this is so waiting players can quickly rotate into the next game. We urge you to sign up for event wait lists, because players often drop off the attendance list shortly before the event, allowing you to move onto the active attendees list.

Outdoor Events:

We play outdoors in the May thru September on Saturdays from 10 am to noon. Games are scheduled at alternating courts in the Metro Detroit area, such as Lawson Park in Royal Oak, Griffin Park in Canton, Butzel Family Center in Detroit, and various other outdoor courts. These events are free.

Indoor Events, Saturday Mornings:

During wintertime games are scheduled for Saturday mornings at a gym in Livonia from 10 am to noon. The cost is typically $8 per player per event.

Indoor Events, Weeknights:

We also schedule Tuesday and Thursday night games year around, usually from 7 pm to 9 pm, which are played at gyms in Dearborn. The cost is typically $10 or $12 per player per event.
